Wausau West Band Booster Meeting – Tues. Feb 17, 2009 7:00 pm
1. Call to Order
2. Secretary’s Report - Kathy
3. Treasurer’s Report - Ellen - not present
• Funding was from Honor Band fund for the day – waiting on the Grand for final costs
4. Fundraiser’s Report - Patti
A. Raffle on course – hit hard in March and April for May drawing
B. Suckers – will collect balance by month end
C. Spaghetti dinner for ski club – details forthcoming from Wendy Goulden
D. Fair Week Parking at John Muir – who runs – charges for parking
E. Texas Roadhouse – open to the public
- Band may play
- Coupons cannot be handed out that night
- Monday, March 2nd
- Must have coupon for the 10%
- Coupons may be printed, e-mailed, forwarded to other family members
- Bands will play in different 15 minute intervals (space may be an issue) – they will be done playing by 7:00 PM
5. Old Business 30 minutes
A. Honor band results – Nic and Todd
• Thank you cards went out this week
• Students got personal letters from Dr. Scott Jones
• Very Successful
• Advertising needs to be better / more timely – posters out earlier / TV / newspapers
B. College Music Scholarship ($100). – Tony (not present)
C. Lock In Info – March – Motion to contribute $100 from booster fund.
• Students are planning – date is not set yet
D. JM Mentor status – Nic
• Interview from the Daily Herald
• Playing at Concert at Muir
F. Photographer is Heidi Hoberstadt
- Pictures for May concert
- Large Picture for Band Room
G. JM Concert results – Nic
- Very successful – lots of fun & full of energy
H. Solo & Ensemble status – Nic
- February 28 – at new Everest Middle School
- State is May 2nd at UWSP
6. New Business 10 minutes
A. UW Band Trip overnight. – Nic
• Friday April 17th - $60.00 for bus, ticket and hotel – food will be extra
• Sign up by Friday, February 20th
• Trip is optional
B. Award Night planning. – Jon
• Ask 8th grade parents to join us / Boosters
• Possible early planning for a Florida trip next spring
• 2nd Tuesday in May (Ellen, can you still organize)
• Need to clear with Pam Houston
C. Officers & chair people for 2009-10. – Jon
• Take this up in May
D. People to Note. – Jon

7. Directors Notes – 10 minutes
A. Jazz Concert – 4/4/09 – posters – Tod Kittel PR – please?
• Are we having Intermission
• Can we sell water & bars?
• Can we sell CDs of Jazz Band
• Slice of Jazz night – music, dancing, silent auction
• Swing dance for the school
B. West/Mosinee band exchange students. – Nic
• Concert is March 5th
• Playing one piece with Mosinee band
