Meet The Director…
The 2008-2009 school year will be Mr. Castonguay’s second year at Wausau West High School. At Wausau West High School, Mr. Castonguay conducts the Symphonic Band, Marching Warriors, Pep Band, Jazz Ensemble, and chamber music. He also teaches lessons to a variety of instruments during the student’s unstructured time.
Under his direction, the Wausau Symphonic Band has appeared at the Sears Tower in Chicago, and worked with guest conductors Dr. John Stanley Ross, Roger Bloomers, and Jeffrey Erickson. The Wausau West Band Program will be initiating specialized private lessons on-site with master teachers during the school day in the fall of 2008. In addition, Wausau West hosted the 1st Annual Central Wisconsin High School Honor Band Festival in the spring of 2008.
Prior to coming to Wausau West High School, Mr. Castonguay held similar positions in Burnsville, Minnesota (2005-2007) and Belgrade, Minnesota (2003-2005). He has a Bachelors of Music from the University of Minnesota and greatly enjoys in tennis in his spare time.
